🌱 New Beginnings – A Strong Start for 2026!
Last Wednesday, 25 March, we welcomed a fantastic turnout to our New Beginnings session — with 13 attendees joining us in person at the Hotel Grand Chancellor and 34 tuning in online.
Hosted by our CEO Scott Wiseman, the session brought together new and returning P&C members for a dynamic morning of insights, connection, and shared learning. From practical guidance to real-world experiences, the conversation was engaging, supportive, and full of energy.
A highlight of the session was the open discussion, where participants shared ideas, challenges, and perspectives — reinforcing the strength of our community and the value of learning from each other.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a positive and collaborative session!

We’ve put together a quick guide on the simple change schools are making to turn “I’ll drink later” into a better habit.

PCYC’s Youth Leadership Team: empowering young people to lead, volunteer and make a difference in their community.
What do a group of young people helping the homeless in Crestmead, some cleaning up rubbish in Innisfail, and others still preparing dumplings in Mareeba have in common? They are all part of PCYC Queensland's Youth Leadership Teams, groups of young volunteers giving back to communities across the state.
Youth Leadership Teams (YLTs) are vibrant groups focused on nurturing leadership skills and community engagement among high school aged young people. YLTs meet regularly at their clubs, dedicate their time to volunteering, and spearhead their own community-driven projects.
Teams are guided by a PCYC Queensland team member, who celebrates and supports the young participants by helping them build on their strengths, embrace challenges and become community-minded leaders. Differences and individuality are welcomed, with each YLT taking on projects that their members are interested in such as fundraising sausage sizzles, cooking, painting furniture and murals, assisting at Parkrun, environmental clean-ups, helping the homeless and more.

This newsletter is sent to your generic P&C email address supplied by the Department of Education (e.g. [email protected]). This generic email address is managed by the school’s MIS administrator, NOT by P&Cs Qld. The MIS administrator sets up the generic email address and P&C-e is automatically forwarded to your P&C executive and other members linked to it.
Never “unsubscribe” to P&C-e from the P&C generic email address as this will also unsubscribe all other P&C members linked to the generic email address who then will miss out on important information and updates. Please contact the school’s admin staff to have your personal email address “unlinked” from your P&C’s generic email address.
