The Accounting Manual for P&C Associations is produced by the Department of Education and Training (DET). It contains vital information regarding the financial operations of the P&C. State school P&Cs in Queensland must follow the procedures outlined in the Manual.

The Accounting Manual was updated by DET in May 2017.
A summary of changes has been published, which outlines the changes from version 3.3 to 3.4 and the reasons for each change.
Changes have been made to allow P&Cs to use debit cards. P&Cs Qld have developed a fact sheet to help guide the proper use of debit cards for P&Cs. Take this fact sheet with you when you visit your bank to ensure that your particular bank can meet these recommendations.

Third party collection for P&Cs has also been enabled by DET in the latest update to the Accounting Manual, provided Queensland Government and departmental procurement policies are adhered to in selecting the agency. A simplified checklist is being developed by DET to assist P&Cs in their selection procedures, which will be provided as soon as it is made available.
